What does a Full Stack Engineer do?
Day to day, full stack engineers translate product requirements into shipped features. Testing
Cover critical paths with unit, integration, and a few end-to-end tests so refactors stay safe.
Deployment and operations
Ship through CI/CD, watch metrics and logs, and own incidents for the features you build.
Skills Every Full Stack Engineer Needs
Languages
JavaScript and TypeScript dominate because they span both sides of the stack. Many full stack engineers also use Python, Go, or Java on the backend.
Frontend
A modern framework such as React (often with Next.js), plus HTML, CSS, state management, and accessibility fundamentals.
Backend
Node.js or another runtime, REST API and/or GraphQL design, authentication, and background jobs.
